Our Hands Garden Ministry

Compelled to address food insecurity issues, provide fresh, healthy produce to the community coupled with the blessing of an abundance of land, the Our Hands Garden Ministry was birthed spring 2010. Produce from the garden, manned on a volunteer basis, is given away free to residents of senior and low-income housing facilities, members of the community on give-away Saturdays, and to our senior members. The garden ministry also works in partnership with the Society of St. Andrew (SOSA) a national gleaning network. SOSA gleans produce directly from area farms which is then donated to the Our Hands Garden Ministry to distribute and deliver. The ministry team also gleans directly from local Farmers Markets in partnership with SOSA.

The garden is currently planted with corn, beans, tomatoes, potatoes, lettuce, squash, okra, cucumbers, cabbage and onions. With God’s blessing, we look forward to a bountiful harvest to feed our neighbors in need. We welcome your help in this ministry, contact us.

Backpack Giveaway

Every fall we give out backpacks stuffed with school supplies to the community as well as feeding lunch to all who come to the church on that day. For the last two years, with God’s blessing, we have been able to increase the number of children we have served.
